One of the many selling points for the ODES brand is one of the industries stongest warranties. It is important that to you as the owner, to fully understand the warranty proccess and fully understand what is covered on your factory warranty. Below we have compiled a list of important factors that go into your machines warranty coverage. It is very important that you as the owner, understand this process for a smooth and quick claim.
Step-by-Step through the warranty process for Kerlin Motorsports
- Call or submit service request on service page. 574-268-9400
- Drop machine off for diagnosis and warranty claim submission ( a refundable $75 diagnosis charge will be collected - if there is an approved warranty claim the diagnosis charge will be waived)
- Our service writers will work directly with you to establish an approximate eta on approval of claim
- Available claims are submitted to ODES for approval
- With warranty claim decision from ODES, a Kerlin Motorsports representative will call for next steps toward your repair. (This process to this point should take between 1 and 3 days depending on shop schedule)
- Any service required that is not covered by warranty will need your approval and sign-off for completion of work. Collection is due upon pick-up and delivery of your machine at completion
- A Kerlin Motorsports representative will call when all work has been completed or to give an update on the progress.
We are proud of our in-stock parts for the ODES machines, although there are cases when a part needed is out of stock, that part will be ordered. Typically we can have ordered parts 3-5 business days depending on availability from ODES.
Owners Responsabilites for Warranty Coverage
In some cases, ODES will ask for specific information on how your machine was used and maintained prior to the warranty claim. A sales representative should have went through these requirements at the time of sale of your machine.
Owner must properly use, maintain, and care for their UTV as defined in the Owner's Manual INCLUDING following the break in period. Owner must service their UTV as defined in the Owner's Manual. Owner must maintain all service records of work performed to their UTV. Only an authorized ODES UTVS dealer or service center can perform warranty repairs, that's us! Kerlin Motorsports :) Periodic service and inspections are considered regular maintenance and are not reimbursable. All warranty repairs require authorization by ODES UTVS. All ODES UTVs Products require a dealer pre-delivery inspection and assembly to ensure proper operation, safety, and warranty validation. Owners Must break-in their vehicle before high performance use or the vehicle can be subject to warranty non-approval. The break in period is half throttle or 3500 to 4000 rpms for the first 5 hours or 100 miles of initial use. Warranty starts from date of purchase by the consumer from their ODES UTV dealer. Vehicle must be registered by the ODES UTV Dealer the UTV was purchased through within 5 days of purchase. ANY modifications aside from cosmetic alterations void the warranty. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will warranty parts or labor be issued for unauthorized alterations to the following, but not limited to: Intakes, Wheels/Tires, Brakes, Exhaust, Electrical, Motor, EFI. Altering these stock components can cause undue stress or cause damage to the unit that can cause the unit to fail or injury or even death to the user.
As you see, the break in period is very important and can cause you to lose warranty coverage. This should have been covered by your selling dealer in detail, but we have also listed it here for reference.
For the first 5 hours or 100 miles do not run the machine over half throttle. This would be considered 3500-4000 rpms. Your engine needs time to break in to ensure gaskets and essential parts "seal" correctly. This will prevent any unnecessary leaks or compression leaks. Once you hace reached your 5 hour or 100 mile mark you will need to have your "break in service" performed. This can be done at our dealership, simply call to schedule a time. 574-268-9400
The first service is essential for double checking anything that could be a potential problem in the future. You own an off road vehicle, the UTV vibrates while riding and can cause bolts to come loose, issue to come up etc. Our dealership will perform the recommended inspections and service at the posted routine maintenance rates based on your machines size. It is especially important that a dealer perform this service.
